Privacy and Communication Policy

Last updated: 20.10.2025

1. Overview

Skyway Brokerage, Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values the privacy and trust of our customers, carriers, and partners. This policy explains how we handle personal information and communication through phone calls, text messages, emails, and our internal systems as part of our freight brokerage and logistics operations.

2. Information We Collect

We collect and store only the information necessary to perform our services, such as:

– Contact information for customers, carriers, and drivers (name, phone number, and email address)
– Load and shipment details
– Communication history related to dispatching, load coordination, and issue resolution
– Supporting documents such as rate confirmations, bills of lading, and delivery proofs

We do not sell, rent, or share customer or carrier information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

3. How We Communicate

Our communication is primarily one-on-one between our personnel and existing customers, carrier offices, or drivers. We may contact you by phone, email, or text message for the following reasons:

– To share or confirm load details
– To provide updates on shipments or delays
– To request or confirm delivery documentation
– To follow up when carriers or drivers do not respond to phone calls or emails
– To maintain effective and professional relationships with our partners

All communication is handled manually by authorized personnel. We do not send automated, marketing, or mass messages. Skyway Brokerage, Inc. may use email to share service updates or marketing information with subscribers or business contacts who have opted in to receive such communication. We do not use text messaging for marketing purposes.

4. Text Messaging Policy

In some cases, customers, carriers, or drivers prefer to communicate by text message for convenience or privacy. Our personnel may send or respond to text messages when appropriate for operational purposes, such as quick updates or follow-ups. If you wish to stop receiving text messages, you may reply ‘STOP’ or contact us directly to opt out. If you need assistance, reply ‘HELP’ or reach us by phone or email using the contact information below. All opt-out requests are handled manually and honored immediately.

5. Load Tracking Communication (Phone, Email, SMS)

Skyway Brokerage, Inc. communicates with carrier dispatchers and drivers by phone, email, and SMS strictly for load tracking and operational coordination purposes. These communications may include load tenders, pickup and delivery scheduling, driver coordination, status updates, appointment changes, documentation requests, accessorial notifications, and urgent service-related alerts. SMS is never used for marketing or promotional purposes.
During the onboarding or load-tendering process, Skyway Brokerage personnel request the dispatcher’s or driver’s verbal consent to receive load tracking SMS messages.
If the dispatcher or driver responds “Yes,” staff provide the required disclosure:
“By providing your phone number, you agree to receive SMS load-tracking and operational messages from Skyway Brokerage, Inc. Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. We do not share mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.”
Once verbal consent is provided, the phone number is recorded, and a confirmation SMS is sent:
“You have agreed to receive SMS load-tracking messages from Skyway Brokerage, Inc. Msg freq may vary. Std msg & data rates apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
These messages are strictly operational and support active shipments; they are not marketing or promotional in any way.
